Service area and first steps
What areas do you serve?
We work throughout all of San Diego County. We are based in Vista and regularly build in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Escondido, San Marcos, El Cajon, Chula Vista, and everywhere in between.
Who will be on my job site every day?
David Sanchez, the owner and architect-trained general contractor, is present on every project. You work directly with the decision-maker throughout, not a rotating cast of project managers.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We schedule a free in-home estimate where David looks at the space, listens to what you want, and gives you a real cost range before you commit to anything.
Cost and budget
How much does a kitchen remodel cost?
Most kitchen remodels in San Diego run between $45,000 and $120,000 or more. The range depends on layout changes, cabinet quality, appliances, and countertop material. A cosmetic refresh stays at the low end; a full gut-and-redesign with custom cabinets and high-end finishes reaches the upper range.
How much does a bathroom remodel cost?
Bathroom remodels typically run between $20,000 and $55,000. A primary suite bath with a tile shower, freestanding tub, and custom vanity lands at the high end. A hall bath or guest bath refresh sits lower.
Do you provide a detailed written estimate?
Yes. After the in-home visit, we give you a written scope of work and cost breakdown so you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs. No vague ballpark numbers.
Timeline and permits
How long does a remodel take?
Kitchen remodels typically take 6 to 12 weeks once construction starts. Bathrooms run 3 to 6 weeks. A whole-home remodel or addition can take several months. Timeline depends on scope, material lead times, and permit approval. We give you a project schedule before we start.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We pull all required city and county permits and manage every step of the plan-check and inspection process. You do not have to deal with the building department.
What if something unexpected comes up once walls are open?
It happens sometimes, especially in older homes. We document what we find, show you photos, explain the options, and get your approval before any extra work begins. No surprises on the invoice.
License and credentials
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. California General Contractor license CA 1042918, fully insured and bonded. You can verify the license any time on the CSLB website.
What does your BuildZoom rating mean?
BuildZoom ranks licensed contractors by permit history, inspections passed, and project track record. We are in the top 8% in California, ahead of roughly 9 out of 10 licensed contractors in the state.
Do you work in Spanish?
Yes, fully bilingual. David and the team can handle every conversation, contract, and plan review in English or Spanish, whichever is more comfortable for you.
Specialty services
Do you build ADUs?
Yes. ADU work is handled through our sister company ADUz, which manages design, permitting, and city coordination. The Rock Remodels handles construction. One family of companies, start to finish.
Do you work with Realtors and investors on flips or rehabs?
Yes. We understand the timelines and cost discipline that flips require. If you need a reliable contractor who shows up, finishes on schedule, and communicates clearly with your team, call us at (760) 524-1754.
Do you do home additions and commercial projects?
Yes, on both. Home additions, room builds, and commercial tenant improvements are all within our scope. Call us with what you have in mind and we will tell you straight whether it is a good fit.
